Close Protection Refresher
SQR Group run the Level 2 Close Protection Refresher training over 3 days at our training centre in SQR Head Offices and Training Centre in London. The Security Industry Authority introduced the Refresher training for Close Protection Operatives to bring it in line with the other security qualifications.
The syllabus consists of the following elements:
- Working as a Door Supervisor for Close Protection Operatives
- Counter Terrorism Awareness
- Application of Physical Intervention in the Private Security Industry (theory and practical)
- Application of Physical Intervention for Close Protection Operatives (theory and practical)
- Searching for Close Protection Operatives
You are required to complete the refresher training to enable you to renew your SIA Close Protection Licence.
Pre-Requirements of the course are:
- Level 3 First Aid Qualification (FAW/FREC3/FPOS) completed and issued by a recognised awarding organisation
- Action Counters Terrorism for Security E-Learning

Close Protection
BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection training plus First Aid at Work.
A Close Protection Officer is employed to protect the Principel, taking relevant measures to ensure safety, security and protection of individuals.
At SQR, we run SIA approved Close Protection training courses, including top ups required every 3 years.
This BTEC level 3 security training course is run from our head office based in London. Taking place over 3 weeks, it teaches necessary skills, provides knowledge as well as practical learning and uses surrounding areas to carry out live drills. It is professional and dynamic, boosting career opportunities for individuals within the security employment field.
Course syllabus includes:

- Physical Intervention for both Door Supervisor and Close Protection in theory and practice
